They have lower prices compared to Expedia. I usually look for hotels on Expedia and then book it on Hotels.com. So far I did not have any trouble with my reservations.

I had made a reservation at a hotel in SF through hotels.com and pre-paid. However, when my boss arrived at the hotel, she was told even though she had pre-paid there was no room for her and that they would rather sell to someone who is staying 5 nights than 2. I called hotels.com and was told that according to the hotel they offered her another hotel. That is not what I was told. Hotels.com called my boss a lier. They also are charging the company for 1 night even though the hotel kicked my boss out at 1:00 AM.
I WILL NEVER use HOTELS.COM again and WILL NEVER RECOMMEND THEM TO ANYONE. Other businesses stand by their customers not HOTELS.COM

I booked a room near DC through Hotels.com for my sister who was traveling with two other people. We booked the room around 11 am. By the time they arrived in DC--nearly 12 hours later and well past midnight--the hotel still hadn't received the reservation from Hotels.com. As a result, they couldn't get the type of room they needed and chose to cancel the reservation. When I called to complain about it to Hotels.com, they told me it was my sister's fault she didn't have a room because she was the one who cancelled the reservation!
