- Value For Money
PowWeb offers a one plan, one price web hosting solution. This makes everything simple and it is very affordable at that. PowWeb's One Plan includes free setup, 1500 GB of disk space on a RAID storage drive, 15000 Gigs of data transfer per month, and a feature-rich system.
In addition this plan provides for unlimited FTP users, mailboxes, email forwarding, and email aliases. It also gives every user a web-based file manager, member operations control panel, and sub-domains. As for software, Frontpage, PHP4 and 5, CGI-Bin, SSI, flash, shockwave are all supported. The plans also cover 75 MySQL databases with a daily database backup for each. Web statistics and logs can also be availed of from the server side.
- Reliability
PowWebs proprietary "Load Balanced Hosting" solution eliminates all single points of failure. By load balancing their servers, a website will have multiple paths to its destination. This is the same technique used with large corporations hosting mission-critical websites.
PowWeb's network and equipment ensures all users of the best service all the time, Their Tier I backbone ensures the best redundancy and routing service, coupled with a multiple Gigabit fiber-optic connections. Their hardware is provided by Dell and is proud to have 30 terabytes of disk storage using a rock solid Unix platform.
- Customer Support
PowWeb's optimal customer support starts with an online chat service that is open 24 hours a day and 7 days a week. Their email support group is also available at all times. Aside from these, community forums, knowledgebase articles, tutorials, FAQ's, and other resources are all provided for.

I joined Powweb back when they were good. Uptime was
good, they kept adding more features for the same money
and tech support was decent and innovative (among
other things they used an IRC chatroom for support which
worked great). I recommended Powweb to several of my
relatives who all now have hosting there. Then they were
bought by someone big and cheap, and it's pretty much all gone
downhill since then. Uptime is sporadic, and performance is
mediocre at best. Tier 1 support is outsourced, and Tier 2
support blames everything on "abusers" (what I call users
who do anything other than basic HTML). I'm done with them.
I'm here researching other hosting companies. I don't
relish the thought of helping move all my relatives'
accounts as well, but will have to do that eventually.

I first started to use Powweb in January 2003 when I registered my first site with this company. Admittedly, the going was rough for the first year as the company was experiencing growing pains. I nearly switched after the first year, but I am glad that I didn't because in 2004 Powweb began to improve their customer service and solve some of their hosting issues.
Today, I still pay $7.77 per month for the service which has improved exponentially since 2003. The company was bought out in 2006 and they moved their offices from California to Boston, but I haven't noticed any change in service.
In my opinion, Powweb is worth exploring. They have everything most small companies need at a price that cannot be beat.

Powweb has really listened to user complaints and has seemed to make major efforts to address them. With the current promotions and increased storage and bandwidth, it's a tough deal to beat
